On this day, 9 members from MTREC representing Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, and France participated in an educational visit to MRT Jakarta's Lebak Bulus Depot to gain a better understanding of the daily operation and maintenance process of the MRT Jakarta North-South Line.
Our visit began at Lebak Bulus MRT Station, where we were warmly welcomed by Ms. Shifa Ghania A. from MRT Jakarta's Corporate Secretary Division. From the station, participants were transported by vehicle to the nearby depot complex located adjacent to the station.
Upon arriving at Lebak Bulus Depot, we were brought to the administration building where Mr. Wahid, Traffic Planning and Control Specialist, delivered a presentation on MRT Jakarta's operation and maintenance activities. The briefing covered various aspects of train operations, service planning, depot functions, and system management.
Participants were also given the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the MRT Jakarta team and were provided with a live view into the Operations Control Centre (OCC), where train services across the network are monitored and coordinated.
Following the presentation, MTREC presented a token of appreciation to MRT Jakarta as a gesture of gratitude for hosting our group and sharing their expertise. Participants were then treated to light refreshments before continuing with the depot tour.
The visit then proceeded to Gedung Prasarana, where all participants were equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The tour then continued to Gedung Sarana, the main maintenance workshop for MRT Jakarta's rolling stock. Participants were guided by Mr. Latiff, Head of Rolling Stock Maintenance, together with Mr. Seta, Rolling Stock Engineer, who provided detailed explanations on the various maintenance activities carried out on the trains.
At the conclusion of the visit, a group photograph was taken in front of an MRT Jakarta train undergoing overhaul to commemorate the occasion. Participants were then transported back to Lebak Bulus MRT Station, marking the end of a memorable visit.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to MRT Jakarta and all personnel involved for their warm hospitality and efforts in making this educational visit a success.
This educational visit to MRT Jakarta Lebak Bulus Depot shows a success in our group for collaborating with train enthusiasts from different countries. As MTREC's first overseas technical visit, this represents an important milestone in our efforts to support international railway engagement. We look forward to organising more educational visits in the future to promote greater understanding of urban rail transportation.
