On this day, 10 members from MTREC participated in a virtual visit to MRT Information Centre organised by MMC Gamuda KVMRT to understand how the KVMRT was built and to learn more on the testing and operations of rolling stocks.

Our visit begins with introduction to MMC Gamuda by Mr. Steven. He explains the process of building an MRT system from planning the route to carrying out the construction until the handover stage to the operator.

Besides, the challenges of building the MRT especially underground are overcome by using a handful of state-of-the-art technology such as BIM which is building information modelling to scan the project site and produce a 3D model of the station. We were also given a 360° tour around the underground station, tunnel and also the TBM.

After that, our visit continues with the briefing by Mr. Roshan on the testing stages and operations on the MRT2 which is Putrajaya Line. Many aspects were considered and tested before the trains are ready for operations. Train and stations are built with several safety features to ensure passengers are safe in the event of emergency.

Lastly, our tour ended with a Q&A session and a group photo session with Ms. Rahyu, Mr. Steven, and Mr. Roshan. Once again we would like to thank MyMRT Underground and everyone involved in the visit today.
